The Official Chuck Jones Virtual Experience is pleased to offer WILLIE ITO fans "Hello Maggie," written by Shigeru Yabu | Illustrated by Willie Ito (made into an animated film, 2023).

Legendary Disney animator and creator, Willie Ito (1934-present), worked for three classic Hollywood animation studios: Disney (Lady and the Tramp's famous spaghetti scene), Warner Brothers, and Hanna-Barbera (Jetsons, Yogi Bear, and more), creating feature films, cartoons, and comics. At Warner Bros., Ito was the assistant animator and layout artist on the cartoons 'No Barking' (1954), 'One Froggy Evening' (1955), and 'What's Opera, Doc?' (1957).

Ito received the Golden Award from the Motion Picture Cartoonist Guild, the Pacific Citizen's APA award, an Inkpot Award (2014), and the NJAHS Legacy Award. A Boy of Heart Mountain won the 2010 Independent Publishers Book Award for "Best Multicultural Children's Fiction Book". In 2020, he received the Winsor McCay Award. Willie Ito is truly a legend and icon in the art world!

The artwork in this book was created by animation director-artist Willie Ito from his vast portfolio of original and limited-edition works of art.

The inspiration for this book came from Shigeru Yabou and his family's experiences as Japanese-American internees at the Heart Mountain Relocation Center in Wyoming from 1942 to the end of World War II. During that time, he made friends with a magpie whom he named Maggie.

The original artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
