One of the most celebrated contemporary American cinematic artist-painter, John Henry Alvin (1948 - 2008) illustrated many movie posters. Alvin created posters and key art for more than 135 films, beginning with the poster for Mel Brooks's Blazing Saddles. His style of art became known as Alvinesque by friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

The inspiration for this work of art came from an original work by John Alvin featuring the Looney Tunes characters and Chuck Jones himself. This work humorously and elegantly pays homage to one of the world's foremost animation legends, Chuck Jones. Set around a desert campfire, Bugs Bunny reels out a story of great interest to his fellow campers. As the sun's final shimmer of light lingers in the west and the smoke from the campfire spirals into the night air, an apparition of benign magnanimity looks down upon them. With stars, and a twinkle in his eyes, Chuck Jones's spirit lingers on in the night sky. This work features Gossamer, Road Runner, Bugs Bunny, Wile E. Coyote, Marvin Martian, Michigan J. Frog, Porky Pig, Pepe le Pew, Elmer Fudd, and Daffy Duck.
