Exclusively ours through Sunday, October 1st, “Wisdom and Nonsense” by Michael Summers! This master artist and muralist has created a stunning new work of art that captures the beauty and mystery of nature in a dynamic and optically vibrant manner.

“Wisdom and Nonsense” a fine art giclee on canvas by Michael Summers, 24″ x 18″, hand-embellished by the artist, limited to just 75 examples plus Artist Proofs. Call for pricing and availability.

When asked what his inspiration was for this work of art, Summers shared a few quotes that had been tumbling inside his head as he conceptualized the art.

“Eschew the ordinary, disdain the commonplace. If you have a single-minded need for something, let it be the unusual, the esoteric, the bizarre, the unexpected.”– Chuck Jones
“If we listened to our intellect, we’d never have a love affair. We’d never have friendship. We’d never go into business, because we’d be cynical. Well, that’s nonsense. You’ve got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.” — Ray Bradbury (Who when queried at a later-in-his-year’s birthday party, “what do you want when you grow up?”, replied, “I want to be fourteen years old, just like Chuck Jones.”)
“A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men.”– Roald Dahl
And so, his choice of an owl, a symbol of wisdom, as subject matter.  Summers has placed it in a playful, colorful pose to add a little fun nonsense. Because no matter how wise you want to be, sometimes it is just fun to play in the rain.
