Mulligan’s “Wizard of Oz” Mural Finds Its Forever Home at Burnett Library, Long Beach

Just three months after its creation, the 40′ long by 6′ tall mural commissioned by Warner Bros., Habitat for Humanity, and the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity was installed at its permanent home in the central room of the Burnett Library in Long Beach’s Bixby Knolls area.

Installation proceeds smoothly. Artist James C. Mulligan lifts a panel up to the Chuck Jones Center's Chairman of the Board, Craig Kausen.

Created in September, the mural, titled “There’s No Place Like Home” was a project conceived by Warner Bros. Studios in conjunction with their commitment to assist Habitat for Humanity in the construction of a home for a deserving family in Long Beach’s Bixby Knolls neighborhood. Employees of the Studio donated their time to the construction project as well as working with Mulligan on the mural project–constructing the felt ‘poppies’ that bloom along the bottom of the mural.

Hang in there, Jimmy, Chuck Redux is almost finished taking photos!

The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity, Craig Kausen, Jimmy Mulligan, and Chuck Redux want to thank librarian extraordinaire, Erica Lansdown, for her help and enthusiasm this past Monday!
