The inspiration for this work of art came from original drawings by Chuck Jones from the 1957 animated film, What's Opera, Doc? Directed by Chuck Jones and written by Michael Maltese, the film featured Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd. It was the first cartoon inducted into the National Film Registry of the Smithsonian Institute in 1992. The 50 Greatest Cartoons by Jerry Beck listed "What's Opera, Doc?" as the number one favorite animated film as voted by 1000 animation critics, artists, and aficionados.
