The inspiration for this work of art came from the 1951 Chuck Jones-directed animated short, Rabbit Fire. This cartoon is the first in Chuck Jones's "hunting trilogy"—the other two cartoons following it are Rabbit Seasoning and Duck! Rabbit, Duck! In the Looney Tunes cartoons, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck have a complex relationship; depicted as friends and allies, but they have a tendency to compete with and annoy each other.
