The inspiration for this work of art came from the 1950 animated short, 8 Ball Bunny directed by Chuck Jones. The iconic Bugs Bunny helps Playboy Penguin go home via New Orleans, Martinique, the Panama Canal, and finally the South Pole. But the penguin's home is in New Jersey. The short has connections to the actor, Humphrey Bogart: Bogart's cartoon character from The Treasure of the Sierra Madre shows up several times in caricature, begging for money from Bugs.
