The inspiration for this work of art came from an original artwork archived at the studio. Charles Schulz's PEANUTS comic strip was one of very few comics to address in a simple and elegant way the nature of life itself. Failure, love, friendship, sorrow, and happiness all were quietly discussed with humor and insight by this American master.
This work commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the 1965 animated film, A Charlie Brown Christmas. In the late 1960s, Melendez and Schulz made the decision to destroy the boxes of A Charlie Brown Christmas animation art, instead of continuing their storage. The original studio drawing, advertising the debut of this holiday classic film was found amongst Melendez's correspondence file; safely preserved.
The Limited Edition artwork is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
