Tom Everhart (1952-present) began illustrating Schulz’s characters and, in 1991, received exclusive lifetime rights to bring PEANUTS imagery into fine art. His international career, including a debut at the Louvre Museum, celebrates the humor, emotion, and timeless appeal of Schulz’s creations.
“Free Bird” is inspired by Snoopy and Woodstock, reimagining a classic PEANUTS moment to capture the feeling of newly found freedom after years of absence. The composition is based on an actual Schulz strip drawing, originally showing Snoopy as the Statue of Liberty holding a football—Everhart replaced the football with Woodstock, soaring freely into life. Everhart transforms this scene with his signature color, texture, and expressive style.
