Father of the Bird

The legendary Academy Award–winning animation director and artist Chuck Jones (1912–2002) reshaped animation through sharp wit, expressive character design, and sophisticated humor. His work continues to influence animation, fine art, and popular culture, earning him a permanent place as one of the most important figures of the Golden Age of Animation.

This limited-edition artwork is inspired by the 1997 animated short Father of the Bird, directed by Stephen A. Fossati and produced by Chuck Jones and Linda Jones Clough.

This short had a limited theatrical release and holds a unique place in animation history. It is the only other Sylvester cartoon produced by Chuck Jones’ unit in which the character speaks, aside from The Scarlet Pumpernickel, the lone Sylvester short directed by Jones himself. Notably, it also represents the final Sylvester cartoon with any involvement from Chuck Jones, adding to its lasting significance and collectability.
