This rare, limited-edition artwork was created by artist, Larry Leichliter from his vast portfolio of original and limited-edition works of art.
The American animator/director Lawrence "Larry" Leichliter began his work in animation in 1975 with the made-for-TV film You're a Good Sport, Charlie Brown. Throughout his career, he has worked on Peanuts animated television films and has also contributed to other successful animated series including Nickelodeon's ChalkZone and The Mighty B!, The Walt Disney Company's Gravity Falls, and Cartoon Network's Time Squad, Squirrel Boy, The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Sym-Bionic Titan, and Adventure Time.
The inspiration for this work of art came from the 1965 Peanuts cartoon "A Charlie Brown Christmas." It was designed by Larry Leichliter to capture the spirit of the iconic scene of Charlie Brown and Linus while faithfully paying homage to the original layout design by Ed Levitt and set upon a vibrant giclee background, originally painted by Dean Spille.
A Charlie Brown Christmas is a 1965 animated television special and the first TV special based on the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. Featuring the voices of Peter Robbins, Christopher Shea, Kathy Steinberg, Tracy Stratford, and Bill Melendez, it was awarded the Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program in 1966, making it the second animated TV program to win that award.
A certificate of authenticity accompanies the Limited Edition artwork.
