One of the most celebrated contemporary American cinematic artist-painter, John Alvin illustrated many movie posters. Alvin created posters and key art for more than 135 films, beginning with the poster for Mel Brooks's Blazing Saddles. His style of art became known as Alvinesque by friends and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

The inspiration for this work of art came from an original by John Alvin who described his role as "creating the promise of a great experience" as the preeminent designer and illustrator of cinema art in the entertainment industry today.

John Alvin's creations remain some of the most collectible movie art today, particularly his Star Wars Tenth Anniversary poster and the iconic images he designed for the Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Pirates of the Caribbean series. Alvin created the posters for over 135 films and his original paintings, drawings, and limited edition fine art reproductions are exhibited and collected around the world.
