Artist – Stephen Reis
Stephen Reis was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1974 and raised in nearby Santa Barbara.
Regular outings to the movies, along with a healthy addiction to late-night monster and horror films, instilled in him a love of cinema. In 1992, he enrolled in the film program at Loyola Marymount University.
Stephen graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in Arts, but not before a life-altering experience. In 1994, he attended Studio Arts Center International in Florence, Italy. Immersed in Italian culture and surrounded by some of the finest art ever created, this period proved to be defining for the young artist.
Upon graduating, Stephen turned his focus to animation. In 1996, he joined the iconic television show “The Simpsons” as a Character Layout Artist. Twenty-nine seasons later, Stephen still calls “The Simpsons” home as a Storyboard Artist, ever grateful for the countless adventures the show has taken him on. And in case you’re wondering, he doesn’t know how they predict the future.
Beyond “The Simpsons,” Stephen has worked as an artist and designer for Disney Fine Art and Chuck Jones Galleries, with his art exhibited in galleries around the globe.
