Artist – Krystiano DaCosta
The Brazilian-born Urban-Disney artist, Krystiano DaCosta is more than just a painter or illustrator; he’s a storyteller who breathes life into every stroke of his brush. Prevailing over his humble beginnings, Krystiano thrived from his childhood experiences growing up in one of the notorious suburbs of Rio, despite his family’s struggles.
With encouragement and persistence, he moved from ‘tagging’ buildings to receiving an award to the first fine arts program in Rio de Janeiro to eventually becoming a nationally recognized artist in Rio de Janeiro. With Italian heritage and a strong desire to explore new creative techniques, Krystiano moved to Italy in his early 20s to further refine his artistic talents.
He then sailed across the ocean to the ‘land of opportunity’ in hopes of fulfilling his dream of becoming a scenic artist for Walt Disney World theme parks. Once he became a Walt Disney World scenic artist and Disney Imagineer, he spearheaded a 2-year training curriculum for future aspiring Disney scenic artists.
Krystiano honed his craft and developed his own unique style by creating custom, exquisitely engineered, unique frames that take the artwork beyond the edges of the canvas. His interpretation of Industrial Impressionism combines natural elements with traditional European textures, resulting in an industrial refined furniture collection.
Collaborating with some of the industry’s finest talents, including Chuck Jones artist Ben Olson, Krystiano is a revolutionary pioneer in Central Florida. His recent work pushes the boundaries of fine art on metal, creating a holographic effect with an incredible three-dimensional look. Krystiano is now represented by the Chuck Jones Gallery to create awe-inspiring Looney Tunes masterpieces that will transcend borders and captivate hearts.
As he reflects on his life as an artist, Krystiano says, “I create art not just for my clients, but for myself as well. It is an extension of me that is limitless. The excitement to display and the ability to share with the people makes creating art an amazingly rewarding experience.”
