The Chuck Jones Gallery proudly presents the Chuck Jones: Golden Age of Animation Art Exhibit at the San Diego Comic-Con Museum—an exclusive exhibit celebrating one of the most influential animators in cinematic history. Extended through the end of 2024, this exhibit offers a rare opportunity to explore the works of Chuck Jones, the creative genius behind some of animation’s most iconic characters.
A Legacy of Laughter and Creativity
This carefully curated collection highlights Chuck Jones’s wit, charm, and artistic genius. From the zany antics of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck to the endless rivalry between Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, Jones brought unforgettable characters to life, defining an era of animation filled with humor, innovation, and heart.
Visitors will be treated to original production cels, hand-drawn sketches, and rarely-seen works that showcase the unique artistry behind each frame. Highlights include the Road Runner & Wile E. Coyote Publicity Cel, a dynamic depiction of the duo’s perpetual chase, and the ‘Bunny Hugged’ Original Drawing, an intimate look at Jones’s masterful storytelling.

Chuck Jones directed over 300 films during his illustrious career, earning nine Academy Award nominations and taking home three Oscars. His groundbreaking contributions to animation include the culturally significant “What’s Opera, Doc?”, the first animated film inducted into the National Film Registry.
Jones’s influence extends far beyond his characters; his artistic style continues to inspire generations of animators. In 1996, he received an Honorary Academy Award for his lifetime of achievements in the world of animation. Additionally, Jones was the first animator honored with a retrospective at New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
