Artist Ben Olson the Spotlight

Shaving cream atoms. Explosive ending. Retribution. Marvin Martian had grand plans. But like all evil plots to take over the world, things didn’t turn out quite how he intended.

Join host Craig Kausen (Chuck Jones’s grandson and CEO) as we unveil the final installment from Ben Olson’s Conquer Earth Series. Ben will also share other exciting new releases, and collector gifts with purchase … and as always, he has a few surprises up his sleeve!

You don’t want to miss this upcoming virtual event. All the ZOOM LINK details are below.

In the Conquer Earth Series, Marvin Martian needs to build the ultimate weapon system to Conquer Earth.

What exactly is the Conquer Earth Story?

Marvin Martian had grand plans to corner the market on shaving cream atoms across the galaxy. That scheme came to an explosive ending once he and Duck Dodgers blew up Planet X.

He’s now quite angry, so very, very angry, and is looking for retribution on the planet that Dodgers hails from, Earth.

There are 25 other planets with all kinds of elements, particles, and more that Marvin will need to build the ultimate weapon system to Conquer Earth. In this quest, he’s formed a team of nefarious individuals. The loyal sidekick, K9, the super genius inventor and purveyor of all things acme, Wile E Coyote, and the muscle, Gossamer.

However, it won’t be easy as Duck Dodgers, Cadet, and Capt. Bugs Bunny, all of who have sparred with Marvin before will be there to thwart his efforts on each planet.

Because of this battle, it takes far longer than anticipated to acquire these pieces and build the machine. Without Shaving cream, Marvin has grown quite the beard by the end. The facial recognition system Wile E. Coyote put in at the beginning doesn’t recognize him and as he goes to launch the weapon, Kaboom. Nothing like an evil plan backfiring on the villain, or villains in this case.

About the artist, Ben Olson

Ben Olson is a contemporary artist who now lives and works in Florida. His colorful, expressive works pay homage to a multitude of characters with a nod to sports figures, film, and animation. His distinctive personal style expresses his love for the world of film, comics, and iconic characters.

Imagination and creativity flow through his veins and out the end of a brush, pen, pencil, or whatever else he can find. Using an energetic vibrant color palette, Olson’s art creates a world of visual delight with a quirky and stylistic feel.

From the age of five, Olson was given the tools to set his imagination free. Upon his acceptance at the prestigious Ringling School of Art & Design, Olson pursued a career in the visual arts that would lead to creating advertising works for Verizon, Mattel, and Simon Malls. Undoubtedly one of the artists who have made the biggest impression on Olson is Chuck Jones, so it’s no surprise that he has found a home at the Chuck Jones Gallery.

Never wanting to be an artist with just one method, Olson creates in several mediums paying homage to other influential artists such as Picasso, using his modern interpretation and harmonious color palette.

Up-and-coming to the forefront of the animated art scene, he is an internationally renowned artist, with his work and talent reaching across international waters in Japan, China, and Europe.

Through his Chuck Jones Center for Creativity Creativeside Chats, he has formed a creative connection with renowned artist, Fabio Napoleoni, who has also praised Olson for his artistic flair. Olson’s work, like Fabio, is gaining popularity and is now among the most sought-after works at the Chuck Jones Gallery.

As the founder of The Backyard Experience, a 501(c)3 nonprofit that sponsors the work of the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity—Chicagoland. Olson is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity. He lives in Florida with his wife, children, and three dogs.

His studio is the playground for all things creative for the Chuck Jones Gallery.
