Chuck Jones brought in ballet dancers for his animators to draw so that the dance sequence in his 1957 masterpiece, What’s Opera, Doc? would look exactly as if Bugs and Elmer were ballet stars. What’s Opera, Doc? was the first cartoon inducted into the National Film Registry of the Smithsonian Institute in 1992.
