He did not like the grownups who talked down to him, but the ones who went on talking in their usual way, leaving him to leap along in their wake, jumping at meanings, guessing, clutching at known words, and chuckling at complicated jokes as they suddenly dawned. He had the glee of the porpoise then, pouring and leaping through strange seas.

THE HISTORY
In 1993, Chuck Jones and his daughter Linda established Chuck Jones Film Productions (CJFP), an animation production company designed to replicate the format of Jones' Warner Bros. animation unit of the 40s and 50s when so many of his most memorable Looney Tunes cartoons were created.
CJFP, located in the same building on the Warner Bros. lot in which Chuck Jones, Friz Freleng and Bob McKimson created many award-winning films for Warner Bros. during the heyday of hand-crafted animation, has produced a number of new animated theatrical short films featuring the classic Looney Tunes characters.
THE FILMS
Under the watchful tutelage of legendary animation director Chuck Jones, the animation unit at CJFP has developed a style that is uniquely classic Jones. When the unit first began, Jones was actively involved in the day-to-day workings of the company alongside his producer, daughter Linda Jones. As the unit matured and honed its skills under his direction, he began to wean himself away from the company to allow the young animation team to begin to carry on his legacy without him.
"The whole purpose behind starting Chuck Jones Film Productions," explains Jones, "was really to eliminate the need for me. I hope to pass along the legacy that we created in the animation units at Warner Bros. during the 40s and 50s so that the true art of animation won't get lost in the age of computers but will be carries on by these talented young animators."
Each film produced at CJFP has been created in the classic style of hand-crafted animation that is becoming a rare art form with the development of new computer technology. Following is a list of CJFP films produced to date:
- Chariots of Fur - December, 1994, released with WB's "Richie Rich" - The first Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner film to be produced in over 30 years.
- Another Froggy Evening - January, 1995 - The "sequel" to the classic cult favorite, "One Froggy Evening", the only other film ever to star Michigan J. Frog.
- Superior Duck - December, 1995, released with WB's "Carpool" - Daffy Duck as a caped crusader, featuring cameo appearances by nearly all of his Looney Tunes cohorts with a special guest appearance by DC Comic's SUPERMAN.
- From Hare to Eternity - 1996 - Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam in a piratical homage to Friz Freleng
- Pullet Surprise - March, 1996, released with Turner's "Cat's Don't Dance" - Starring Pete Puma and Foghorn Leghorn in a hilarious comedy routine. Directed by guest director, Darrell Van Citters.
- Father of the Bird - November 1997 - Sylvester meets up with an adorable new character named Cornbread, created by CJFP director and Chuck Jones protégé, Stephen Fossati.
- A Tail to Tell - October 24, 2001 - Chuck Jones' Timber Wolf is a series of Flash animated cartoons, created and produced by Academy Award winning animation director Chuck Jones exclusively for Warner Bros. Online. The series features the first new characters Jones has created for Warner Bros. since Marvin Martian. The show introduces us to Thomas T. Wolf, a character who sees the world as his oyster, despite being cursed with trees falling on him whenever he says his middle name, 'Timber.'
THE PHILOSOPHY
CJFP is dedicated to maintaining, nurturing and encouraging the free flow of creativity by promoting an atmosphere in which creative minds can flourish. The studio operates under a single guiding principle - the same principle adopted by its mentor, Chuck Jones - that there is only one absolute rule for testing what constitutes great children's books, films or plays: that they can be read with equal pleasure by adults.
This philosophy continues today with the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity, established by Jones in 2000 to foster creativity and inspiration through the arts and animation. Visit ChuckJonesCenter.org
